We now sell custom sized geotextiles in two trusted brands, both designed for the same ground engineering purposes. Each product is a high-quality fabric made to industry standards, ensuring excellent performance for drainage, filtration, stabilisation, and separation.
To make life easier for our customers EasyMerchant is offering this Terram T1000 Geotextile Membrane in custom sizes. This offers the easiest and cheapest way to buy Terram standard geotextiles anywhere. We roll out the full roll and cut off the size you require, saving you money and saving waste!
Please bear in mind that as this is a cut roll, we have to unroll it in the yard and then fold it back up again once cut. The membrane may arrive slightly wet or with some markings from handling, but as it is buried underground this will not affect performance. Customers can be confident that the material will still provide the same strength, protection, and separation properties. I just want to make sure our customers are aware so that there are no surprises!
Ordering custom cuts also means we can keep plenty of stock available in our warehouse and offer fast UK-wide delivery on every order!
Generally, custom sizes will come folded, 100m lengths will come on a roll. Occasionally small cuts will come on a roll too, but only if it’s the last remaining piece of stock.
Rolls may arrive with ripped outer plastic packaging or some scrape marks at the end of the roll. This is quite unavoidable as the rolls are heavy and the wrapping is thin, so they do tend to arrive to us from the manufacturers with some rips in the packaging and scrapes on the end. Sometimes during cutting, the ends may become slightly melted together so please bear in mind that it may require extra attention (by hand unrolling the roll slowly and ensuring any large melted areas are sanded/cut off).
The Terram T1000 is also used to prevent the loss of building aggregates into a soakaway system. With its excellent permeability, it allows water to flow while maintaining structural separation of layers of soil, gravel, and other sub-base material.
Typical applications for Terram geotextiles include ground stabilisation, weed control, construction projects, landscaping, and separation of granular layers.

What is Terram?
Terram T1000 is a non woven geotextile membrane used to separate aggregates while allowing water to drain through it. Terram is the brand name of the manufacturer.
What is the difference between black and white membranes?
The black membrane is a woven type which does not allow water to drain through it. The white non-woven fabric will allow water to drain through it, making it ideal for outdoor application.
What are typical uses for this product?

Will this work as a pond liner underlay?
Yes, this membrane is perfect for use as a pond liner underlay. If the ground conditions are sharp you may require something from the thicker range, such as the 200gsm or 300gsm versions, whichever may be needed.
What is the difference between Terram T1000 and MT1000?
Not a lot! They’re both white non-woven geotextiles designed for all the same uses. They’re just made by two different manufacturers. Both are made in the UK, they both do exactly the same job and are designed for the same application. So, the difference is simply manufacturer and brand name.
What thickness do I need?
The most popular products sold in this range are 100GSM, which is the most popularly sold thickness. We do also keep 200GSM and 300GSM in stock. So if you think you need a different thickness, or are just unsure which type you need, contact our team and we’ll help you get the right product for your projects.
What is the difference between Woven and Non-Woven?
Woven membranes are black, dense, and not permeable. Non-woven geotextile membranes are white, softer, and allow full water movement with excellent filtration and permeability.
Is this a weed barrier?
Though not rated as a dedicated weed control fabric, the geotextile membrane is often used for weed control in landscaping and gardening projects.
To summarise, although this membrane will no doubt help to stop weed growth, it is not rated as a weed barrier.
What size should I buy?
The most commonly sold sizes are the 4.5m x 100m roll, however we also sell a lot of the 2.25m x 100m rolls of Terram T1000. We sell widths in increments of 1.5m (perfect for paths, land drainage) 2.25m, 3m, and 4.5m. We also then sell custom lengths in increments of 10m for maximum convenience and minimal wastage. There are also length increments of 10m, to help find the right size for your garden projects, and to avoid purchasing unnecessary quantities of membrane.
