Fitting a connector

As with most push fit components, fitting a coupler’s a relatively easy job if you have some basic DIY skills. Each end of the coupler takes plain 160mm (6 inch) pipe. If you’ve cut the pipe to length, you’ll need to chamfer the cut edge to around 45-degrees and tidy up any remaining swarf.

When you’re ready to fit the soil pipes, they’ll simply push into place – although you may have to use a silicone lubricant if it’s a difficult fit.

When inserted – pull the soil pipes back out by a couple of millimetres – just to allow for any expansion and contraction. Then, repeat the process for your second connection.
