• In compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document A, ensure all lateral restraints at each floor level with a maximum of 2-metre centres
• Straps are to be oriented perpendicularly to the floor joists; these straps should be securely fastened against the masonry and extended across the first 3 joists.
• When employing restraint straps that run “parallel” to the floor joists, ensure they are tightly secured to the masonry and have a minimum length of 1200mm.
• Horizontal restraint straps characteristic tensile strength should not be less than 8kN.
