Our Cast Aluminium Gutters are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, low maintenance, and have an appearance that looks as good as the authentic cast iron gutter systems. They are made from aluminium alloy LM6 to BS5750:2008.

They can be ordered coated with a choice of RAL or BS standard colours upon request but come as standard either in jet black or anthracite grey in a matt finish, or in the more traditional black textured leatherette finish.

These gutters feature a socketed system with a male and female end that is interlocked to create a secure watertight joint. To ensure a watertight joint it is advised to use a low-modulus sealant, such as Arbosil 1096, and secured it with a nut and bolt.

Expected Service Life
When properly installed and maintained in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations and the operation and maintenance (O&M) guidelines, cast aluminium guttering systems are expected to deliver a minimum functional lifespan of 30 years.

Handling and Storage
Gutters, downpipes, and associated fittings—particularly those finished with a polyester powder coating—should be handled with care to prevent damage. Ideally, store them under cover on appropriate racking to avoid scratching. All sections are delivered in protective polythene sleeves, while components are boxed securely. If painted items must be stored outdoors, they should be protected with a waterproof tarpaulin to stop moisture from entering the polythene wrapping. Items with a mill finish should be kept under cover to prevent inconsistent oxidisation before installation.

Maintenance Requirements
To ensure optimal performance, gutters should be cleaned regularly, with leaves and other debris removed as required. Inspect all fixings periodically to confirm they remain secure, and carry out any repairs where needed. To preserve the appearance and durability of any decorative paintwork, all components should be washed with clean water at least once a year. In coastal or industrial areas, this cleaning schedule may need to be increased to every six months due to harsher environmental conditions.
