Browse 68mm Traditional Cast Iron Style Downpipe 1.8 / 2.5m Here
Brett Martin cast iron effect downpipe has the classic cast iron look with lugs to fix to a wall and the texture and finish of a cast iron pipe but with the properties of a light weight uPVC plastic guttering downpipe. Available in 1.8m and 2.5m, this pipe is 68mm in diameter and is designed to go with the cascade cast iron effect guttering range, which gives a traditional look while remaining as cost effective as the other guttering ranges.
Fitting cast iron effect downpipe is one of the final parts of installing a guttering system to the property. By marking out the location of the cast iron effect guttering downpipe using a plumb-bob when you installed the outlet, it can be assured that the downpipe will align with the storm water drain.
Firstly, work out the required length of downpipe – and, if you need to cut a section down to size, you can do so quickly and easily with a hacksaw. Make sure you use a file to tidy off any burrs before making a connection or terminating the pipe, this will create a neat, watertight fit.
With the downpipe in place, you can slide the cast iron effect guttering bracket into your desired position. Mark where the holes need to be drilled on the wall – then, after sliding the bracket out of the way, drill them and plug them accordingly. When your holes are in place, slide the cast iron effect guttering bracket into position and secure it with the appropriate fixings – making sure the downpipe has a couple of millimetres of expansion room where it sits in the outlet.
