How to connect blue pipe to copper?

It’s not uncommon to be working with pipes that pre-date the popularity of plastic blue MDPE solutions. If this is the case, you’ll need to use a copper pipe adaptor. How to cut blue pipe?

For the neatest possible cut (to avoid any potential problems with compression fittings) you should use a dedicated pair of plastic pipe shears to cut MDPE pipe. If this isn’t possible, a hacksaw with the appropriate plastic cutting blade is an alternative – but you should be careful to thoroughly clean any burrs that remain after making the cut.

What is blue supply pipe called?

Strictly speaking, blue pipe is referred to as ‘blue MDPE’ – but it’s often also called ‘blue poly’ or simply ‘blue pipe’.

How to repair blue supply pipe
