Our Timloc Electric Meter Box Recessed are tailored to fit all UK standard domestic electric meters. This box is constructed from hot pressed glass reinforced plastic (GRP), ensuring it’s weather-resistant, won’t corrode, and is durable enough to withstand the elements. Compliant with British Standard BS 8567:2012 and fire retardant to BS 476, Part 7, 1997, Class 2, it guarantees safety and adherence to strict industry standards.

Our Electric Meter Box is supplied fully assembled with a pre-fitted door for ease of installation. Measuring 595mm x 409mm x 210mm (H x W x D) overall, with a recessed dimension of 530mm x 363mm x 150mm (H x W x D), it fits all standard domestic meters, including prepay and smart meters. The box, available in a sleek white finish, is easily cleaned and can be painted to blend with any property façade.

How to Fit an Electric Meter Box Recessed: For fitting, a minimum wall cut-out of 535mm x 365mm is essential. The box should be built into the wall without bridging the damp proof course. Ensure the base and sides of the box are fully bedded into the mortar, with the architrave sides touching the outer leaf of the brickwork. For waterproofing, fit a suitable Timloc cavity tray above and behind the box. Additionally, where a spigot is fitted, ensure it’s securely built into the inner wall and any gaps are filled with mortar.

Electric Meter Box Recessed Installation: This meter box must be installed by a qualified professional to ensure safety and compliance. The design includes predrilled cable entry and meter tail positions with an in-fill cap, and a cable entry position via a hockey stick (not supplied). The box is also complete with a timber backboard, lock, and key for security and ease of access.
