To begin with, MDPE is completely inert, meaning it will not react chemically to the gas that’s flowing through it or to any chemicals that surround it under the ground.

This also means it will not corrode – so it has an extremely long system life (at least 100 years – according to IGN 4-32-18) – meaning you can leave your job knowing the materials you’ve used are going to stand up to whatever comes their way.
