What does a ninety degree bend do?

Ducting products are made out of HDPE – High Density Polyethylene. As a manufacturing product, it’s extremely tough and notch resistant – but angles can only really be created with long radius bends – which isn’t always practical.

A ninety degree bend is a shorter, fixed section of underground ducting that more drastically changes the direction of the duct for instances when you need to negotiate a corner or work around an obstruction. For use with our range of rigid 6m length ducting which comes in: Gas Pipe Ducting, Motorway Communications Purple Ducting, Street Light / Traffic Signal Orange Ducting, Fibre Optic Ducting, and Water Pipe Ducting.

How do you fit a ninety degree bend?

Fitting a ninety degree duct bend is fairly simple. First, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve neatly cut the end of the duct you’re hoping to change the direction of – being sure to keep the cut free from burrs and debris.

To join a ninety degree bend with a cut section of duct, you’ll need to use a connector. The connector simply slips over the top of the cut duct – and, if you need it to be water-tight, you can add a seal in the 2nd or 3rd rib/vally in the outer corrugated surface of the duct.

With this in place, the ninety degree bend will also just push into place, again – with a seal if required.
