- Sturdy and trustworthy
A flange adaptor is used to connect the attenuation tank to an inlet or outlet pipe or another system component.
Attenuation tanks are underground tanks that are used to store surface water as well as regulate the flow out into a local watercourse. They’re often used alongside other types of water management systems such as an infiltration system which helps to reduce flood risks.
While flange adaptors are usually used to connect the inlet / outlet pipes they can also be used to connect the tank to other parts of the system such as pumps or filters. It provides a leak proof, secure connection to the tank and it’s components which ensures that the system operates efficiently. The flange adaptors are made from PVC and are usually used to connect to a PVC ring seal pipe.
When installing the flange adaptor, you would usually drill holes in the corners of the flange adaptor and then use cable ties to secure it to the attenuation tank underneath and then seal the impermeable geotextile membrane around the flange. When connecting the pipe to it, make sure it is free of dirt or debris, lubricate the ring seal of the pipe and then push the pipe onto the flange. The flange adaptors can be used with soakaway crates, but aren’t usually required.
