Why is traffic light ducting coloured orange?
100mm orange ducting is coloured this way because it’s intended to only be used to protect street lighting and traffic signalling infrastructure.
Orange is easily distinguished from other ducting colours – so you and future contractors will not be able to mistake different ducts, no matter how quickly you’re working or the surrounding conditions.
Why is HDPE used to ducting?
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is used to make ducting owing to it’s exceptional toughness and light weight.
The toughness is achieved by combining a corrugated outer layer with a smooth inner bore – making it highly impact resistant – but still quick and easy to pull cables into, thanks to the draw cord that’s integrated into the pipework.
Of course, the light weight of HDPE ducting also makes it more practical to move – reducing the effort needed for installation, as well as the effort needed to haul the products around the country. Reducing the weight also means reducing delivery costs – helping you to keep you prices down.
