What does this product do?

A filter style drain is a single wall PVCu perforated and corrugated pipe that’s supplied pre-wrapped in a geotextile. The geotextile is a non-woven fabric that’s heat-sealed and made of polypropylene/polyethylene filaments.

By wrapping the perforated pipe, you reduce the need for surrounding aggregate – which is beneficial when you’re working in locations where gravel covered ‘French’ drains could be disrupted and scattered by traffic.

Since the pipe is wrapped directly, it also increases the water inflow – as the whole plastic drainage pipe can absorb water, with no flow restricted by dense aggregate. This decreases the chance of standing surface water.
